HELP KEEP
HISTORY
ALIVE!

WE NEED
YOU!

In 1948, an enthusiastic group of local families organized a fife and drum corps at the Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department. During these initial years, the fife and drum corps included parents and kids.

In 1964, the fife and drum corps re-organized and became sponsored by the Groton Lodge of Elks as a junior corps for kids (ages 9-18). Membership swelled during the bi-centennial years to nearly 70 kids. The corps marched proudly from Maine to Florida.

Since the 1980s, membership has fluctuated, and the coprs is actively seeking new members (ages 9-18) to join their ranks.

Nutmeg is the second oldest active junior fife & drum corps in the United States, and celebrated their 75th Anniversary in 2023. The corps invites you to join and be a part of history.

Nutmeg needs YOU to keep this corps on the road! Practices are held  Monday nights in Groton, CT.
